Carmody MacDonald Win for American Equity Mortgage Affirmed by Court of Appeals

The Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District recently affirmed a jury verdict won by Carmody MacDonald in an unfair competition case in which American Equity Mortgage (AEM) claimed Vinson Mortgage was using AEM's distinctive marketing in an effort to pass of AEM's services as Vinson Mortgage's own.

After the five-day jury trial in March of 2011, jurors in the St. Louis County Circuit Court found that Vinson Mortgage Group's advertising misled consumers and wrongfully misdirected business.
